Welcome to Bermuda's Local Consultation of Youth (LCOY), where we hope to bring together passionate young leaders to address some of the most pressing issues facing our island. This FREE series of events is designed to foster community engagement, raise awareness, and develop actionable solutions through targeted discussions and the collaborative efforts of Bermudian youth aged 13 - 39.
Noelle Young has received approval from YOUNGO, the Children and Youth Constituency of the United Nations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), to host Bermuda's first Local Consultation of Youth (LCOY). This groundbreaking event will unite young leaders, activists, subject matter experts and school groups to discuss and address the state of Bermuda. The LCOY aims to empower Bermuda's youth, gathering their observations and recommendations while highlighting youth initiatives and projects.
We will create Bermuda's first National Youth Statement which will be submitted to our nations leaders and the United Nations for incorporation in to the collective Global Youth Statement from all approved nations for consideration at Conference of Parties (COP), which is the annual United Nations Climate Change Conference, in November.

1. Registration Opens: July 30th, 2024
2. Registration Ends: October 30th 2024
3. Virtual Session: November 2nd 2024
4. Community Fundraiser Event: October 30th from 11am -7pm at Parsons Road Playground

*Please note that the event schedule will largely depend on the amount of funding received. We will provide exact dates for the events as soon as possible.
The participants of this conference will engage in discussions on various topics related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's). These topics include climate justice and adaptation, food security, human health, and environmental protection. Additionally, the conference will cover key climate justice issues such as access to quality education, national homicide rate , disaster resilience, youth safety, water rights, policy reform, advocacy and more. During LCOY, we will also propose national targets and indicators that our government can use to measure our countries progress. Each LCOY session aims to foster a comprehensive understanding and collaborative approach to addressing critical national and global challenges.

- Food Security: Addressing the island's critical food security issues by developing innovative solutions to increase local food production and reduce reliance on imports. We aim to support local farmers, promote sustainable practices, and ensure Bermuda's resilience and self-sufficiency.
- Homicide Rate: Tackling Bermuda's high homicide rate by uniting our voices to advocate for effective policies and interventions. We will organize community forums, peaceful protests, and meetings with representatives to push for comprehensive support for at-risk individuals and robust community engagement initiatives.
- Dog Attacks: Advocating for stricter regulations on dog ownership, better enforcement of existing laws, and comprehensive education programs for dog owners to ensure the safety of our youngest and most vulnerable citizens.
- Youth Exodus: Creating an environment where young Bermudians feel valued and see a future for themselves by investing in diverse industries, supporting entrepreneurial endeavors, and ensuring career development pathways through mentorship and succession planning.
- Cultural Heritage: Preserving and promoting Bermuda's rich cultural heritage by fostering intergenerational collaboration, merging the wisdom of older generations with the innovative ideas of the youth to maintain a strong cultural foundation.
